ISEET Score card valid 2 years : Starting from 2013, all centrally funded engineering institutes will use ISEET and Class XII board marks for the admission into BE, B.Tech, and other engineering programs. ISEET will have in two parts –Mainand Advance- on a single day. Hence going forward, the government would formally merged the joint entrance examination (JEE) which is conducted by the IITs and the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) which held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
In the meeting with all the state representatives which is held on 22nd Feb, HRD minister Kapil Sibal made his intentions clear and has ability to gain support from majority. However, there are still some doubts in this weight-age criterion of ISEET about the class 12th marks. “The proposal of a common national examination which will effect from 2013 and consider weight-age to state board results, normally the basis of a percentiles formula, was endorsed ‘in this principle’ by states”, said the HRD ministry.
The good news is that ISEET scores will be valid up to 2 years. Also, the plan has to conduct this test at least twice in a year. The entrance examination question papers will be prepared by the IITs and the exam that would be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
